- Bridge/trellis details
- Need to pick cutout for the railing
- This is the detail cutout for the balusters and hand rail. I think it will look great the rest of the structure stained brown, or even the color I stain the entrance trellis
- Hardware for swings. I have not found anything available that compares to what we have in quality that would fit properly on the beams going perpendicular to the swings. I had envisioned one large swing beam, as we have on our old swingset, only thicker, and the bridge running over it, with the treads going perpendicular.
- Now it looks like it has become opposite because of the trellis, which was supposed to be more of a decorative element, but is now dictating the structure. We need to work out what is going to happen here. The mat will raise the height 2" unless we dig it out, and the grass will raise it another 1 1/2 -2 ". I am worried that the swings are still going to be too low unless we add another bean above, and then the swing arch will definitely be affected by the lower cross beams....more to come.
- Trellis end detail-resolved by just doing a bigger bottom notch in template. It is exactly how I want it now.
- Tie for beams holding ladder and swing set.
We talked about a decorative wrought iron piece, or maybe lattice, but I think we might make use of it for monkey bars, and maybe add some other grab bars around the swings so that they could traverse under the trellis when they are not swinging.
This blog is a central location for all aspects of the master plan for our home. I have categorized all of the photos I have collected for many years, explaining why I have chosen certain homes, rooms, gardens, furnishings, etc. The clutter of magazines and books, and trying to convey the same thoughts to various different people was difficult. The hope is to clarify our ideas in quick reference pages, so that the professionals helping us will fully understand what we are trying to accomplish.
